The department of Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning was started in the year 2020 with an intake of 60 students. The department is headed by Dr. Asha Joseph who has more than twenty-two years of experience in teaching in reputed engineering colleges and Industry.The faculty members in the department are well qualified, experienced and committed towards the upliftment of the department, specialized in object-oriented system analysis and design, artificial intelligence, python programming, expert systems, multimedia, RDBMS, Machine Learning, neural networks, data communication, data structures and algorithms, operating system and network security.
The students of this course develop base skills in programming,Operating System software, Mobile Application development, Artificial Intelligence techniques, Machine Learning algorithms, Deep Learning techniques, Natural Language Processing and Robotics process automation. In order to imbibe these skills, thedepartment possesses different laboratories which are equipped with latest technologies as prescribed by the university.
The curriculum is an adequate balance of fundamental, core and elective courses. Students will learn about python, machine learning algorithms, AI algorithms, deep learning, HADOOP, natural language processing, computer vision, etc.Making the computer system think, act and work like human beings, how people interact, how people think, reflect and respond, artificial intelligence and machine learning is the basis for mimicking human intelligence processes through the creation and application of algorithms and is trying to make computers think and act like humans.
In addition to the regular classroom teaching, the students are exposed to additional skills by giving them an opportunity to visit software industries, attend workshops and symposiums. In addition, the department provides placement opportunities by inviting different software companies to the institution and providing technical hands on training to the students.Department thrive to widen the awareness of students in professional, ethical, social and environmental dimensions, to strengthen the theoretical and practical aspects of the learning process, to ensure students acquire unique skills to design and develop and to find solutions of the highest quality and standards to resolve software problems and issues.
