The Department of Computer Engineering at BTI offers a four-year B.E. programme with an AICTE-approved intake of 60 seats, affiliated to VTU, Belagavi. Computer Engineering bridges hardware and software, covering computer architecture, operating systems, networks, embedded systems, database engineering and software development,preparing graduates for careers in system design, embedded software, networking and technology consulting.

Dr. Sohan Kumar Gupta Head, Computer Engineering B.E, ME, Ph.D. 27+ years of teaching experience

Heads the Computer Engineering department with over 27 years of teaching and industry experience, bridging hardware and software systems.

To enhance the technical knowledge with strong hardware and software skills to build reliable and modern computer systems in the field of Computer Engineering

Mission

  1. MI: To provide students with a strong foundation im core principle of computer engineering. encompassing hardware, software and emerging technological concepts.
  2. M2: To promote research culture through collaborative projects and to encourage students to pursue innovative solutions and contribute to scholarly and industrial research.
  3. M3: To cultivate socially responsible engineers committed to applying technology for community development and societal well-being and to instill ethical values, sustainability practices, and awareness of global challenges.

PROGRAM EDUCATIONAL OBJECTIVES

  1. PEO1: To demonstrate strong technical expertise in Computer Engineering by applying the knowledge of Programming. Embedded Systems. Mobile Application Development, Operating Systems, Computer Networks and emerging areas such as Cloud Computing. IoT. and Cybersecurity, enabling them to design, develop, and implement innovative software and hardware solutions for real-world challenges.
  2. PEO2: To develop good foundation in core concepts of Computer Engineering with the attitude to pursue higher education and adapt to rapidly evolving industry requirements
  3. PEO3: To exhibit professional ethics, effective communication, teamwork, and leadership qualities contributing to multidisciplinary excellence in their careers.
  4. PEO4: To develop technical knowledge and research skills through practical exposure, internships, mini-projects, and major projects, encouraging students to become entrepreneurs and innovators in the computing domain.
  5. PEO5: To address societal, environmental, and global challenges by designing sustainable and efficient computing solutions that improve the quality of life.

PROGRAM SPECIFIC OUTCOMES

PSO1: Graduates will demonstrate proficiency in Computer Engineering by applying principles of mathematics, science and engineering along with technical expertise.

PSO2: Graduates will be equipped with proficienes in core areas of Computer Engineeringincluding Programming. Data Structures. Embedded Systems. Mobile Application Development. Operating Systems, Computer Networks and emerging technologies to cater to industry and societal needs. 

PSO3: Graduates will develop proficiency in analytical skills, research, and innovation contributing effectively to industry requirements by delivering sustainable and efficient computing solutions with socio-economic relevance.
